Let’s Start at the Beginning

Generative AI is everywhere right now.

Most people have heard the names.
Some have tried a tool once or twice.
A smaller group uses them daily.

And the much larger group?
They’re still in a holding pattern, debating the need, debating the why.

Most people are still either:

  • not using these tools at all, or
  • using them lightly, occasionally, and only the free versions.

Not because they’re uninterested.
Not because they “don’t get technology.”
But because the starting point was never very clear, and because most people need two things before they invest the time: a clear “why” and a sense of what’s in it for them.

When you live and work inside technology long enough, it’s easy to forget how new this still is for most people. What feels obvious from the inside often feels overwhelming from the outside.

So this series starts at the beginning.
On purpose.
2–3 posts per week.

Not the beginning of artificial intelligence.

It starts with the release of ChatGPT, because while this technology existed long before that moment, ChatGPT was the first consumer-focused product that put generative AI directly into everyday hands.

That launch didn’t invent the technology.
It changed the growth rate, the visibility, and the stakes.

It’s the moment the technology became “for the rest of us”, accessible, usable, and available (even if we didn’t quite know what to do with it yet).

No assumptions.
No jargon.
No pressure to keep up.

Just small, practical steps that create real progress.

Some of these early posts may feel basic to people already deep in this space. That’s okay. The goal isn’t to impress, it’s to include.

And that’s exactly where meaningful learning should start.

One step at a time.
One small win.
One percent better.

Better is a direction, not a destination.
