Dalle3-vs-midjourney
Today’s One Thing: Is DALLE-3 a MidJourney Killer? In my quest to be one percent better, I’m dissecting whether DALLE-3, now included in my ChatGPT Plus subscription, makes MidJourney a redundant expense.

With the release of DALLE-3 within ChatGPT, I’m starting to question whether to continue paying for MidJourney. I’m getting better images from DALLE-3, perhaps because ChatGPT refines the prompt based on what you’ve asked for. Plus, I have the new, updated version of Firefly by Adobe included in my Photoshop subscription. (More on that in another post.)

MidJourney v6 really needs to impress.
Below are samples from DALLE-3 and MidJourney v5.2.
My prompt: “Early morning warm light from a window, a small desk with a tablet and keyboard, a cup of coffee, and a small Buddha statue on the table.”

Neither is spot on, but both capture the vibe. I could have continued refining if I wanted to. Notice how MidJourney includes all the extra elements in the images.
I’ve been experimenting with these tools for almost two years now, and they’ve definitely come a long way.
At this point, when you factor in all the things that come with ChatGPT Plus, it’s a no-brainer really.
In my ‘one to better’ journey, ChatGPT Plus is still my better choice.
Thanks for reading.✌️
